Jorge Martín has revealed surprising details about Ducati's secret testing program for MotoGP's upcoming 2027 regulations, claiming the prototype 850cc machine is currently around 1.6 seconds per lap slower than the current 1000cc Desmosedici. The test offered one of the first real insights into MotoGP's next generation of machinery, which will feature reduced engine capacity and significant technical changes aimed at improving safety and creating closer racing. Despite the slower lap times, Martín stressed that the prototype is still in the early stages of development and has plenty of room for improvement before the new regulations come into effect.
