In concluzie, atunci cand vedem performantele de pe pista, ar fi bine sa avem in vedere si pozitia pilotului in echipa.

"18 years means new record for Valentino Rossi

Valentino Rossi's Misano MotoGP victory has handed the Italian yet another record, this time for the longest winning career in motorcycle grand prix.

Rossi's latest win came 18 years 27 days since his first grand prix victory, in the 125cc class at Brno in 1996. That takes the record for the longest winning career away from countryman Loris Capirossi (17 years 49 days).

Rossi has also extended his record for the longest winning career in the 500cc/MotoGP class, which now stands at 14 years 67 days since his first premier-class victory at Donington Park in 2000.

However 35-year-old Rossi still has a long way to go if he is to beat the record for the oldest 500cc/MotoGP race winner. That is held by British rider Fergus Anderson, who was 44 years old when he won the 1953 Spanish 500cc race.

Official MotoGP statistics do however show Rossi as tenth on the oldest winners list, which can be seen below...

Oldest riders to win a 500cc/MotoGP race:
1. Fergus Anderson (GBR) 44 years 237 days 500cc/Spain/1953/Montjuich
2. Jack Findlay (AUS) 42 years 85 days 500cc/Austria/1977/Salzburgring
3. Les Graham (GBR) 41 years 21 days 500cc/Spain/1952/Montjuich
4. Jack Ahearn (AUS) 39 years 327 days 500cc/Finland/1964/Imatra
5. Harold Daniell (GBR) 39 years 240 days 500cc/Britain/1949/Isle of Man TT
6. Frantisek Stastny (CZE) 38 years 247 days 500cc/East Germany/1966/Sachsenring
7. Nello Pagani (ITA) 37 years 328 days 500cc/Nations/1949/Monza
8. Troy Bayliss (AUS) 37 years 213 days MotoGP/Valencia/2006/Ricardo Tormo
9. Phil Read (GBR) 36 years 235 days 500cc/Czech/1975/Brno
10. Valentino Rossi (ITA) 35 years 210 days MotoGP/San Marino/2014/Misano"

Comentariile sunt de prisos. Go Vale!!!
