MotoGP and the American Dream: The 2027 season launch will take place in Miami

Liberty Media wants to bring the MotoGP World Championship to the US market, and this event is the first step. Manufacturers and teams will have to dig deep into their pockets

 

MotoGP will make a stop in Miami in 2027, but—at least for now—it won’t be for a Grand Prix. According to what GPOne has heard, the Florida city will host the presentation of the 2027 MotoGP season. This event was launched two years ago, with Bangkok serving as its inaugural host. In 2026, however, Kuala Lumpur was chosen, featuring a new street exhibition race through the city’s streets.

For the future, the decision was made to leave Asia and head to the USA, an important market where MotoGP has never quite managed to gain a foothold. Laguna Seca had decent attendance, but not on par with the top European events. Indianapolis (where races were held from 2008 to 2015) is remembered for being desolately empty. Austin, the current GP venue, is a top-tier facility close to the city, and the track is beautiful, but the grandstands have never been full.

Clearly, Liberty Media, the new owner of MotoGP, wants to make the championship popular in the United States as well, just as it has done with F1. CEO Derek Chang made this clear in recent weeks, not ruling out the possibility that Miami could also host a motorcycle Grand Prix in the future.

Aprilia's wait for a title sponsor is over

 

Monster Energy is set to become Aprilia's title sponsor in MotoGP from next week's Italian Grand Prix, Motorsport.com can confirm.

The Noale factory has dominated the start of the 2026 season, winning four out of the six grands prix so far, with Marco Bezzecchi prevailing in the opening three races and Jorge Martin triumphing at Le Mans.

 

However, Aprilia remains one of the few teams on the grid without a title sponsor – something that will change with immediate effect as Monster strikes an agreement with the squad.

For the moment, the contract will run until the end of the season, but with a commitment to extend the agreement beyond 2026.

For Aprilia, the move is an important cash injection, but above all a guarantee of stability in the short and medium term. In addition, it so happens that championship leader Bezzecchi has a personal contract with Monster, which will undoubtedly create many opportunities for activations between the brand, the rider and the team.

Also, as is known, Francesco Bagnaia will join Aprilia in 2027 as Bezzecchi’s team-mate. The current Ducati rider also has a personal contract with Monster, hence the agreement between the drinks company and Aprilia having scope beyond 2026.

- Pedro Acosta linked with a future move from KTM to VR46 Ducati
- Pecco Bagnaia reportedly on Yamaha’s radar
- Fabio Quartararo connected to a possible Aprilia switch
- Jorge Martin rumoured as a future HRC target. 
 

mie imi pare mai real zvonul cu JM la honda, deja ei clar au avut ceva discutii... cand vroia JM sa rupa contractul cu Aprilia si sa se mute la Honda.

cam trist cu Acosta la VR46, ar fi trebuit sa fie la ducati.... dar cine stie, poate o sa fie la uzina si Bulega la vr46

cand ar trebui sa se faca anuntuirle oficiale? pe la Mugelo?

 

asa cica, dar cum s-a zvonit ca in prima etapa o sa stim - nu mai cred nimic si nici nu imi prea pasa, oricum va fi un reset major.

ma astept sa fie stranse lucrurile in prima jumate a sezonului.

dar cu noile reguli nu stiu cine o sa fie mai avantajat - TOp ca a avut 1 sezon in GP pe alte reguli sau Bule care vine proaspat?

 

Sau cumva Bule a avut voie sa piloteze deja moto aia noua?

Nici mie nu mi-i se pare un pilot wuaw. Adica sunt piloti mai valorosi in moto2. 
dar na, probabil ca are ceva clauza in ctr dc castiga titlul. In plus vine cu know-how-ul la gunele pirelli

Manufacturers are currently in discussions with MotoGP Sports Entertainment (formerly Dorna Sports) and Liberty Media about the possibility of reducing the number of bikes available to each rider to just one starting next year. The main reason behind this rule change is budget constraints.

sau o sa dubleze numarul mecanicilor - sa faca o moto de la 0 in 10min.

 

o sa aiba ascuns in spate motor pe cadru etc.
