Acum 5 minute, frigider a spus:

obiectiv vorbind e dus campionatul.

Balaton Park farewell: from next year MotoGP will relocate

The Hungarian track will have to do without the world championship after just two editions of the GP, but the intention is to continue racing in

The Balaton Park has never been liked by any rider. “It feels like riding in a parking lot” is the common opinion. Adding to this is the criticism regarding the safety of its chicanes (Bastianini had a close call last year, cutting the first 'esse' at lion's skin after falling), making it clear why riders frown upon its name being mentioned.

There's an even more serious issue, the lack of spectators. Despite the circuit being just over an hour's drive from the capital Budapest, Hungarians have shown a rather cold attitude towards their home race. The stands were far from full last year, and this year the situation might be even worse. According to what GPOne has learned, pre-sales for the Grand Prix to be held this weekend amount to just 7,000 tickets. The promotion of the event is quite poor: neither at the Budapest airport nor along the highway leading to the circuit are there billboards advertising the GP.

The decision has therefore been made to abandon Balaton Park after just two years, and this weekend will be the second and last GP that the circuit will host.

MotoGP is thus looking elsewhere because the intention is to continue racing in Hungary. One of the possibilities is the Hungaroring, which has recently been modernized to host Formula 1.
